Professor Tech

The Professor Tech project focuses on bringing better technology adoption to Queensland through visits by an expert scholar to centres in the state to advocate for the innovative use of technology by students in the primary/secondary classroom. Modelled on initiatives such as the surfing scientist, a specific focus will be on providing hands-on sessions in technology such as mixed reality and robotics, as well as providing students with a chance to ask questions about technologies effect on society. This series is an extension of a successful workshop series for K - 12 teachers conducted in 2017/2018 across regional Queensland called Weaving Technology into the Fabric of the Classroom, and is supported by the State Member of Parliament for Coomera, and by the CSIRO STEM Professionals in Schools program.
